How did we get started?
You might wonder how I started the petting farm! It started with my kids begging for pets, so we got bunnies right before COVID! When school and many indoor activities got canceled, I thought it would be a good opportunity to educate my kids on keeping animals. So, we had baby bunnies!! Next thing you know, every trip we took during lock down was to get more animals!!
Come experience the life outdoors taking care of animals and working with them. It’s a nice way to get animal therapy and share your stories with us!! Visiting a farm near you makes the world a better place by allowing these farms to keep running to allow more people to connect with nature!!
How to Make the Most of Your Farm Visit
Visiting a farm is a blast, but a little prep goes a long way! Here are some tips to help you have the best time:
Wear Comfortable Clothes: Farms can be muddy and cold. Make sure to check the weather before visiting! Boots or sturdy shoes are a must!
Bring Snacks and Water: Exploring takes energy, so make sure to stay hydrated and fueled.
Ask Questions: Farmers love to share stories and facts. Don’t be shy to ask!
Respect the Animals: Make sure to approach slowly, and be gentle. The only rule is to not step on the bunnies!
Take Photos: Feel free to capture those adorable moments.
If you’re visiting with kids, make sure they know animals do accidentally bite when feeding them, so keep your hands flat when feeding and don't stick your fingers into the bunny cages. They can't see what's in front of them. Supervise little ones. They can be knocked over by our goats if they have food.
